2024 Terra Costantino - Etna Bianco DOC deAetna (750ml)
Mount Etna is one of the most exciting wine regions on earth, and Terra Costantino is one of the producers who helped put it on the map. Run by father and son Dino and Fabio Costantino, the estate sits on the southeastern slope of the still-active volcano, with ten hectares of certified organic vineyards spanning the mid-slope — just seven kilometers from the crater and seven from the sea.
The deAetna is a Carricante-dominant blend — one of Sicily's great indigenous white grapes — harvested by hand and aged for several months in stainless steel to preserve its vivid, volcanic character. The 2024 is a precise wine: aromas of citrus, minerals, lemon peel, white pepper, and a whisper of volcanic smoke. Medium-bodied on the palate with tingling acidity, brightness, and a clean, slightly bitter finish. James Suckling awarded it 93 points in April 2025.
As a class, Etna Bianco has a profound saline character with citrus and fresh herb notes — breezy and crackling with acidity, at home with fish, shellfish, and anything briny. At this price, it is one of the most characterful and honest white wines Italy produces. Drink now through 2027.
