Sicily's volcanic answer to great white Burgundy — and one of the most compelling white wines in Italy.

Tenuta delle Terre Nere is the estate that put Etna Bianco on the world's radar, and the Montalto single-vineyard bottling — part of their Cuvée delle Vigne Niche series of site-specific wines — is where the volcanic terroir speaks most clearly. Sourced from 100% Carricante grown on the north side of Etna on volcanic, extremely stony, and shallow soils — very rich in sand — at 600 to 650 meters above sea level, fermented and aged in French oak.

Creamy and layered on the palate, with a clean sweep of salinity framing golden apple, yellow plum, green almond, and preserved lemon, plus fragrant hints of broom and wild thyme — expanding nicely through the mid-palate with good tension and zesty drive carrying through a racy, focused finish.Incredibly balanced and almost Burgundian in structure, with a pronounced mineral, flinty character that sets it apart.

Appellation: Etna Bianco DOC
Vintage: 2024
Region: Sicilia
Country: Italy
Bottle Size: 750ml
