2025 Kellerei Eisacktaler - Alto Adige Valle Isarco DOC Kerner (750ml)

Kellerei Eisacktal, also known as Cantina Valle Isarco, was founded in 1961 and today draws on more than 135 grower families farming the Isarco Valley, the northernmost wine-producing area of Alto Adige. The steep, terraced vineyards here, some reaching nearly 950 meters, have earned the cooperative a strong reputation for aromatic white wines, with the region's unique blend of alpine landscape and specialized viticulture shaping every bottle it produces.

Kerner, a cross of Schiava and Riesling first developed in Germany around 1930, thrives in the light, gravelly, sandy soils found on the valley's higher, sun-exposed slopes. Despite its late ripening, the variety rewards patience with full-bodied, expressive wines. The grapes are picked entirely by hand, given a brief period of skin contact, then gently pressed. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures, and the wine ages on fine lees for around ten months, split between stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks.

The 2025 shows a straw yellow color with greenish hues, opening to a fresh, spiced, and aromatic nose. The palate is well balanced, with lively acidity, a delicate muscat-like note, and mineral undertones that carry through the finish. It pairs nicely with grilled trout, spicy Asian dishes, or soft alpine cheeses.
