Giesen is a New Zealand winery run by three brothers who built the estate on a foundation of sustainability and family commitment. Based in Marlborough at the top of the South Island, the winery has become known in recent years for pioneering non-alcoholic wine, releasing what it describes as the world's first dealcoholized New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. That effort has since earned recognition at competitions including the New Zealand Artisan Awards and the International Wine & Spirit Competition.

This wine begins as Giesen's traditional Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, grown in the region's dry vineyards under a temperate climate that favors bright acidity and pure fruit character. Once fermented in the standard way, the alcohol is gently removed using spinning cone technology, a process that separates out the alcohol while preserving the wine's delicate aromatic compounds. Those aromatics are then reintroduced to the dealcoholized base, along with a small amount of grape juice, to round out the final blend and recreate the character of the original wine.

The nose offers delicate notes of fresh lime, redcurrant, and lemon shortbread, while the palate brings citrus, blackcurrant, and passionfruit through to a crisp, dry finish. It drinks light, juicy, and refreshing, making it a fitting companion for light seafood dishes, fresh salads, or simply chilled on its own as an aperitif.
