The white second wine of two legends — a blend drawn from the declassified lots of Château Haut-Brion Blanc and La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, arguably the two greatest dry whites in Bordeaux. Introduced in 2009, La Clarté offers a genuine glimpse of that first-growth white pedigree at a fraction of the price. The 2014, a vintage saved by a glorious Indian summer, leans toward Sauvignon Blanc's brighter register: crisp grapefruit, green apple, lemon confit, passion fruit, and melon lifted by that telltale sandy-gravelly Graves matchstick note. Barrel-fermented for texture, it's vivid and finely sculpted, with chalk, white pepper, and sage adding nuance over a taut, mineral-driven, energetic finish. Intense, brilliant, and super-expressive
