Ex-Chateau release. 2015's are drinking beautifully. You'd be hard-pressed to find a Pauillac at this price with bottle age!

Château Pedesclaux has undergone a remarkable transformation since the Lorenzetti family took over in 2009 — a full replanting, a striking new cellar, and a renewed focus on precision that's pushed this Fifth Growth firmly into the conversation with Pauillac's best. 2015 was an excellent Left Bank vintage, and this Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend shows it: ripe blackcurrant, cedar, and graphite on the nose, with a full-bodied, well-structured palate, firm but polished tannins, and real length. Serious, classically styled Pauillac that's still flying somewhat under the radar relative to its neighbors.

Country France
Region Bordeaux
Appellation Pauillac
Classification 5ème Grand Cru Classé
Producer Château Pedesclaux
Format 750ml
92 Points
"The 2015 Pédesclaux offers attractive red fruit laced with cedar, tobacco and autumn leaves on the nose, gently unfolding with aeration to reveal violet scents. The nicely balanced palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a fresh bead of acidity and a lilting tobacco and cedar infused finish. Very fine and one of the most approachable Pauillacs.
Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.
