A benchmark Pessac-Léognan from one of the Graves' most historic and architecturally magnificent estates — and the 2018 vintage represents one of the finest releases in the property's long and storied history. James Suckling awarded 93 Points, Wine Enthusiast 95 Points, Wine Spectator 92 Points, and Wine Advocate 92 Points — four major critics, four strong scores, zero hesitation. The first vines at La Louvière were planted circa 1310, with modern winemaking traditions handed down by skilled Carthusian monks from Bordeaux — and today under the Lurton family's stewardship the estate has never been better.

A blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, hand-harvested and aged 15 months in 50% new French oak barrels, clarified with egg white before bottling — traditional Bordeaux winemaking executed with modern precision. Deep garnet, charming and round on the palate with red fruit flavors, components of cocoa and sweet spice, and an aftertaste of toasted overtones — a wine of genuine elegance, balance, and classic Graves character. Since 2015 the wines have never been better, and the 2018 is the proof.

93 Points
"Ripe cherry, stewed blackberry, nutmeg, cedar and black olive on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with sleek, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Flavorful. Try from 2022."
