2019 Fattoria La Lecciaia - Brunello di Montalcino HALF BOTTLE (375ml)
Fattoria La Lecciaia was purchased in 1983 by Mauro Pacini, who modernized the property with updated winemaking facilities while holding to the traditional methods that define Brunello production. The estate sits in the località Vallafrico, within the original micro-terroir where Brunello di Montalcino was first made, surrounded by some of the area's oldest and most respected vineyards. Spanning sixty hectares, with fifteen dedicated to vines and twelve registered for Brunello production, the estate reflects a balance between a forward-looking approach to winemaking and deep respect for Montalcino's winemaking heritage.
Made entirely from Sangiovese grown on the hills of Montalcino, this wine ferments in temperature-controlled steel tanks for fifteen to twenty days, with frequent pump-overs to draw out color and tannin. It then spends a minimum of thirty-six months aging in large Slavonian oak casks before a further four months resting in bottle, following the extended timeline required of Brunello, which reaches the market only in its fifth year after harvest.
The wine shows an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections at the rim. Its bouquet layers ripe berry fruit, sweet spice, and delicate florals, while the palate is medium to full bodied, with polished tannins and lively acidity. It pairs naturally with roasted game, grilled steak, or aged pecorino.
