Jean-Marc Brocard founded his domaine in 1973 in the village of Préhy, starting with a single hectare of vines and producing his first bottles the following year. From that modest beginning, the estate has grown into one of Chablis's largest producers, now farming around 120 hectares and bottling more than thirty distinct single-vineyard wines. Since his son Julien joined the business in 1996, the domaine has moved steadily toward organic and biodynamic farming, and the vineyards today are kept free of herbicides and pesticides.

Sainte Claire comes from a single vineyard in Préhy planted with vines around thirty years old, rooted in the Kimmeridgian limestone that gives Chablis its distinctive mineral character, layered with clay and ancient marine fossils. Each parcel at the estate is harvested and vinified separately to preserve the character of its particular soil, with fermentation carried out using indigenous yeasts at controlled temperatures. The wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation, then rests on its lees in stainless steel for seven to nine months before bottling.

The nose offers lemon, clementine, and tangerine blossom, while the palate is crisp and tangy, framed by chalky minerality and taut acidity that carries into a clean, precise finish. It pairs beautifully with grilled trout, a light crab salad, or a mild goat's milk cheese.
