2025 Landmass Wines - Multitudes White Columbia Gorge (750ml)
Landmass Wines is the work of Malia Myers and Melaney Schmidt, first-generation winemakers who source fruit from across Oregon and Washington rather than farming a single estate, a strategy that lets them explore a range of grapes and regions while keeping costs manageable. Roughly half their production draws from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown in the Willamette Valley, while the Columbia Gorge supplies most of the remainder, an area known for wide temperature swings and near-constant wind that shapes fruit with real intensity. Sustainability and organic farming guide the pair's approach across their vineyard sources, and their winemaking favors freshness and clarity over heavy manipulation in the cellar.
Multitudes takes its name from the blend itself, which changes composition from year to year depending on the vineyards and varieties on hand. The 2024 vintage combines organic Chardonnay with Pinot Gris grown on Underwood Mountain in the Columbia Gorge, a high-elevation site whose wild winds and dramatic diurnal shifts help preserve natural acidity in the fruit. The wine is fermented and aged mostly in stainless steel, with a smaller portion finished in neutral oak, an approach meant to highlight bright, direct fruit character over heavier texture.
The wine opens with pear, apple blossom, vanilla, and loquat, carried by crisp, lively acidity through a clean, refreshing finish. It is a versatile pour with grilled trout, a chilled seafood salad, or roasted asparagus with lemon.
