2024 Pieropan - Soave DOC Classico Calvarino (750ml)

Italy's first single-vineyard white (est. 1971), grown on Eocene-era basalt soils at 95–145m. Fermented and aged 12 months on lees in cement — no oak, pure terroir. The fresher, more energetic of Pieropan's two crus: delicately honeyed with ripe pear, a hint of ginger, green herbs, and apricot pit, finishing with a salty twist and a line of silvery bitterness. The palate delivers rich stone fruit and saline notes balanced by mouthwatering acidity, with a long, finely structured finish. Approachable now but built to age — drink 2025–2040+.
