Podere Ruggeri Corsini is a small, family-run estate in Monforte d'Alba, at the heart of Piedmont's Langhe hills. The name blends "Corsini," the hamlet where the winery sits, and "Ruggeri," the maiden name of the founder's mother, honoring her role in getting the project off the ground. Started in the mid-1990s, the estate began with classic Langhe varieties, Dolcetto, Barbera, and Barolo, before gradually expanding into a broader range of reds, a rosé, and a pair of whites, all still tended by the founding family.

This Barbera d'Alba comes from vineyards planted between 1996 and 2000 on clayey, calcareous soil at 420 to 480 meters above sea level, trained in the traditional Guyot method. Grapes are hand-picked into small crates, destemmed right away, and macerated for about eight days with regular pump-overs to build color and flavor. After malolactic fermentation, the wine rests in stainless steel for ten to fourteen months before being bottled in autumn.

The result is ruby red with purplish highlights, offering a fresh bouquet of blackberry, cherry, strawberry, and ripe plum, with spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla, and green pepper. The palate is full and robust, its natural acidity balanced by depth and fruit. It pairs nicely with veal, roasted poultry, and hearty pasta dishes.
