2024 Thomas-Collardot - Puligny Montrachet Les Climats (750ml) [PRE ARRIVAL]
Domaine Thomas-Collardot is a small family estate in Puligny-Montrachet, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, where the vineyards have passed through three generations. Jacqueline Collardot has run the domaine since 2010, after years in which it was leased to cousins Hubert and Philippe Chavy; her son, Mathieu, joined in 2018. Farming just two and a half hectares organically, with some biodynamic practices, the pair focus on a pure expression of the domaine's Chardonnay.
Les Climats blends fruit from eight village and premier cru parcels, including Houlières, Rue aux Vaches, Hameau de Blagny, and Les Folatières, each hand-harvested and pressed gently to protect primary aromatics. The juice settles for a day in steel without added sulfur, then ferments in mostly neutral 350-liter barrels with native yeasts. The wine rests on fine lees for ten to twelve months before the parcels are blended and given further time to integrate in steel.
The 2024 offers a bright mix of lemon zest, white peach, and pear, with acacia blossom and a chalky mineral edge underneath. The palate is precise and finely textured, carrying citrus and orchard fruit through a saline, focused finish with a touch of creaminess. Approachable young but built to gain complexity in the cellar, it suits roast chicken, seared scallops, or fresh goat cheese.
