Château Montrose, the revelation of a unique terroir

Martin and Olivier Bouygues acquired Château Montrose in 2006. Like ambassadors, they seek to reveal, accompany, and respect this unique terroir, spanning over 90 hectares in one contiguous plot, ideally located on the banks of the Gironde estuary. 2022 marks the beginning of a new chapter for the estate. Pierre Graffeuille, former CEO of Domaines Delon, is appointed as the General Manager of SCDM Domaines de la Familles Bouygues and continues the development of the properties managed over the past decade by Hervé Berland.

La Dame de Montrose - reliable quality, lasting enjoyment

La Dame de Montrose was created in 1983 as a tribute to Yvonne Charmolüe, who single-handedly managed Château Montrose from 1944 to 1960. Elaborated from the same vineyard and with the same rigor as the Grand Vin, La Dame de Montrose, derived from a second selection, is a predominantly Merlot wine that is supple and silky.

La Dame de Montrose is a reliable value from Saint-Estèphe that reaches its maturity sooner. Its pronounced red fruit aromas represent another expression of the terroir in a style of its own, dense but accessible, seductive but distinguished

93-95 Points
"A Merlot-heavy blend of 82% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc, mostly from clay and limestone soils and resting in 30% new oak with 20% foudre, the 2025 La Dame De Montrose is medium-bodied, round, and supple, with a beautiful sense of elegance. Ripe framboise, juicy currants, violets, and sappy flower nuances all shine on the nose, and it's almost impossible to resist today, with remarkable purity and gorgeous tannins. "
