In 2025, Château Gruaud Larose celebrates its 300th anniversary. To mark this significant milestone, the bottle features a bespoke design that pays tribute to three centuries of history.

All the formats will have this design, and it is possible to personnalize the bottles (with a name written behind for instance) from the 3L format and bigger.

Gruaud Larose, "le vin des Rois, le Roi des vins"

Since its foundation in 1725, four families have succeeded one another at the head of Gruaud Larose: the Gruaud & Larose families, the Balguerie and Sarget families, the Cordier family, and the Merlaut family. The sprawling 82-hectare vineyard, planted in 1784, envelops the château. This remarkably uniform terroir has remained unchanged since 1855 when the estate earned its prestigious 2nd Grand Cru Classé status.

A pivotal moment occurred in 2018 when Virginie Sallette assumed the role of Technical Director. In addition to scrutinizing every facet of the production process to reach greater precision, she and her teams have reaped the benefits of a comprehensive vineyard replanting program initiated several years ago.

The 2025 vintage:

The 2025 vintage was marked by severe drought, with only 700 mm of rainfall, producing concentrated and intense wines.A mild winter encouraged early budbreak, followed by rapid ripening under the summer heat, leading to an early harvest in September, completed on 20 September before the onset of autumn

97-99 Points
"Crème de cassis and black raspberry fruits intermixed with spring flowers, graphite, tobacco leaf, and spicy wood all emerge from the 2025 Château Gruaud Larose, a deep purple-hued Saint-Julien based on 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc that's resting in 80% new French oak. This beauty stopped me in my tracks with its sheer class and purity. Full-bodied on the palate, it has a layered, graceful mouthfeel, gorgeous tannins, and a great finish, all grounded by a remarkable sense of balance and elegance. It checks in at 13.47% alcohol with a pH of 3.71. This is a heavenly Saint-Julien that brings the richness of the vintage alongside an unmistakable sense of class. Bravo! "
