2025 Clos St. Magdeleine - Cassis Rose (750ml)
Cassis rosé is its own thing — don't confuse it with the pale, delicate pinks of neighboring Provence. Made from organically grown Grenache, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre at this fourth-generation family estate perched below France's highest coastal cliff, the rosé from Clos Sainte-Magdeleine is distinctly food-driven: savoury, dry, and built for the table. An attractive coral pink, with a floral and red cherry nose underscored by a hint of salinity, green herbs, and white peach — then a silky, smooth texture with strawberry, raspberry, and delicate white peach flavours and a touch of ginger spice on the lengthy finish. Production is especially limited, and the small quantities available are largely consumed locally with fresh fish — the best way to enjoy them. Lobster, langoustines, grilled branzino. Drink now.
