Dönnhoff is Nahe royalty, a family estate in the region since the 1700s and now run by Cornelius Dönnhoff. This is their dry estate Riesling and the house calling card, basically a village wine from the volcanic porphyry and melaphyr soils around the Oberhäuser Felsenberg and Kieselberg, with some slate and quartzite in the mix.

Fermented and aged in a combination of stainless steel and old large oak casks, from organically grown, Fair'n Green certified fruit. It's the serious sibling to the off-dry Estate bottling: same source, fermented all the way to dry.

Look for peach, citrus and green apple over a smoky, stony core, with a light, lithe frame and zippy acidity that keeps you reaching for another glass. A natural with oysters, sushi, spicy Asian dishes, grilled fish or roast chicken.

89 Points
"The 2025 Riesling trocken comes from Oberhausen's volcanic soils. Tendercreduction trembles on a slightly citric nose, reminiscent of Meyer lemon. The palate is immediately clean-cut, superbly taut and beautifully tense with citrus and stone. This is its usual, strait-laced, stony self. (Bone-dry)"
