2025 Marcel Lapierre - Morgon (750ml)

Marcel Lapierre, inspired by the teachings of Jules Chauvet, helped ignite the natural wine movement from this small Villié-Morgon estate, and today his children Mathieu and Camille carry the work forward, now farming biodynamically. Sourced from decomposed granite soils on vines averaging 45 to 60 years old, the fruit is hand-harvested at full ripeness and vinified with native-yeast semi-carbonic maceration, no added sulfites, before resting 9 months in oak foudres and barrels ranging from 3 to 13 years old. The 2025 growing season is being called a strong one for Beaujolais, following an easy spring and an intensely hot summer. Expect the domaine's signature transparency: bright red fruit, violet, and a mineral, saline finish, with the freshness and drinkability that made Lapierre's name synonymous with real Morgon.
