Foursquare Equidem Mark XXVII Single Blended Rum 750ml

A 14-Year Double Maturation Single Blended Rum, distilled in both the copper Double-Retort Pot Still and the Continuous Twin Column Coffey Still of Foursquare.
This release was aged for 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels and then transferred into ex-Black Muscat casks for an additional 9 years.
• Initial Impressions:
Intriguing and extremely complex, while still holding true to the Foursquare and Barbados character. Layers of savory, citrus, and fruit-forward characteristics meld with classic brown butter and caramel rum notes.
• Aroma:
Immediate notes of vanilla and orange peel, leading into sweet tangerines and mandarins, with unique herbaceous and baking spice undertones.
• Palate:
Bold and complex, yet round and pleasant. Distinctive savory notes—reminiscent of miso or salted caramel—with hints of enoki mushroom, leather, cedar, and honey on the finish. All of this is built around a base of brown butter, rich toffee, and flavors of both berry and citrus fruits. Intriguing from start to finish, this is a truly complex spirit.
