Glenfiddich was founded in 1886 by William Grant in Dufftown, at the heart of Speyside, and remains family owned to this day under William Grant & Sons. It has grown into the best-selling single malt Scotch in the world, built on a house style that balances approachability with genuine depth, and the distillery's stag emblem has become one of the most recognizable symbols in whisky.

This 21 year old spends its full maturation in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum, hand selected by Glenfiddich's malt master and refilled with rum for months before being emptied and filled with the aged whisky itself. When first released in 2002 the expression was called Havana Reserve, but the name was changed to Gran Reserva after conflicts with the United States trade embargo on Cuban goods. It is bottled at 40 percent ABV.

The nose is intensely vanilla-sweet, with banana, dried fig, and rich toffee layered against floral honeysuckle, new leather, and oak. The palate opens soft before turning brisk and spicy, bringing ginger, citrus, and a touch of smoke over that toffee sweetness. The finish is long, warming, and notably dry, closing on lingering spice.
