Grant's Whiskey 1.75L

Grant's traces its origins to 1886, when William Grant began working as a bookkeeper in the distilling trade. When the Pattisons whisky company, then the largest blender in Scotland, went bankrupt in 1898, Grant seized the opportunity and launched his own blend, having already built the Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown two years earlier with the help of his seven sons and two daughters. His son-in-law Charles Gordon later spent a year touring Australia and the Far East to establish Grant's internationally, and in 1963 the family built the Girvan grain distillery in Ayrshire to secure independent grain supply. Now five generations deep, William Grant & Sons remains one of Scotland's few independent, family-owned whisky companies.

Grant's Family Reserve, the brand's flagship blend, combines roughly twenty-five single malt and grain whiskies, with Girvan grain forming the backbone and Glenfiddich, Balvenie, Kininvie, and Ailsa Bay among the principal malts. Current Master Blender Brian Kinsman oversees the recipe, which follows a classic Speyside-leaning style built for smoothness and approachability rather than heavy peat or smoke. The finished blend is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume.

The nose is complex and clean, offering ripe pear and summer fruit alongside light barley and toasty oak. On the palate, vanilla sweetness balances malt character and floral notes, with hints of honeycomb and stewed fruit. The finish is long and sweet, closing with a subtle whisper of smoke. It's a versatile choice for both sipping and mixing into whisky cocktails.
