Highland Park 15 yr Viking Heart Single Malt Whiskey 750ml

Highland Park distills its single malt on Orkney, an archipelago off the northern tip of Scotland, making it one of the world's most northerly whisky producers. The distillery traces its roots to 1798 and has built its reputation around five defining practices: aromatic peat cut from local moorland, hand-turned floor maltings, sherry-seasoned oak casks, cool northern maturation, and careful cask harmonization before bottling. Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion oversees the selection and blending of casks for every release.

Viking Heart, a permanent addition to the Highland Park range introduced in 2021, is drawn from a high proportion of first-fill European and American oak sherry-seasoned casks, rounded out with a smaller number of refill casks that let the distillery's signature heather peat and fruit character come through. The whisky is bottled at 44 percent alcohol by volume and housed in a heavily embossed ceramic bottle, a design inspired by the earthenware vessels once used to store whisky at the distillery generations ago.

On the nose, expect crème brûlée, heather honey, and warm cinnamon. The palate brings ripe pineapple, lemon zest, vanilla sponge, and toasted spice, while mellow peat smoke and a touch of orange linger through a long, gently smoky finish.
