McClintock Gardener's Gin 750ml
McClintock Distilling was founded by Braeden Bumpers and Tyler Hegamyer, two Frederick, Maryland natives whose early love of home brewing grew into a passion for distilling. Their distillery, located along Carroll Creek Park in downtown Frederick, became Maryland's first USDA-certified organic distillery, and it takes its name from McClintock Young, a lesser-known nineteenth-century local inventor whose inventive spirit the founders wanted to honor. The distillery sources organic, often Maryland-grown grains for its full lineup of gin, vodka, and whiskey.
Gardener's Gin is a limited-release, summer-style expression built around a botanical mix of lavender, cucumber, and hibiscus, finished with three different citrus peels. After distillation, the gin is short-aged in Madeira wine casks, a step that lends it a soft pink hue and a touch of red wine character not typically found in gin. It is bottled at 43% ABV.
The nose leads with hibiscus and lavender alongside a crisp cucumber lift, while the palate brings strong citrus and floral flavors with a background hint of juniper and the gentle richness imparted by the wine casks. The finish is clean and zesty, making it well suited to lighter, warm-weather gin cocktails or simply served over ice.
