Made only in exceptional vintages, Andrus Reserve is Pine Ridge founder Gary Andrus's flagship wine, a proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller proportions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, sourced from estate vineyards across Rutherford, Stags Leap District, and Oakville. The Rutherford fruit comes from the Andrus family's own 25-acre estate vineyard, planted in 1975 and 1983 as one of California's first narrow-spaced vineyards, sitting on nutrient-rich alluvial clay at the base of the Mayacamas foothills. Robert Parker singled out 1985 as potentially the finest California Cabernet vintage of the entire 1974-1990 stretch.
