1990 is one of the greatest Bordeaux vintages of the 20th century, and Château Margaux delivered one of the wines of the vintage. Opulent and seductive where the 1989 was powerful, this is Margaux at its most breathtaking — violet, black cherry, cassis, and rose petal on the nose, with a palate of extraordinary silkiness, perfect tannin integration, and a finish that seems to last forever. André Mentzelopoulos called it the finest wine made at the estate since 1961. Nearly four decades on, it remains a once-in-a-lifetime bottle.
