Quinta do Crasto 2000 Colheira is a single-vintage tawny port bottled from grapes cultivated at the estate’s Douro Valley vineyards. Finished for approximately seven years in seasoned wooden casks, this 750ml release channels the distinct concentration of a celebrated harvest without extended barrel oxygen exposure. The profile opens with dried apricot, toasted hazelnut, and crystallized orange, progressing into deeper layers of black tea infusion, molasses, and fine-grained nuttiness. The finish maintains a clean, structured backbone that transitions smoothly without excessive sweetness.

Decant the wine for twenty to thirty minutes before pouring to allow the volatile aromatic compounds to stabilize. Serve at 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit to maintain clarity across the flavor spectrum. This port complements aged hard cheeses, walnut-based pastries, and fruit compotes, making it functional for both dedicated dessert service and slow evening sipping. After opening, store the bottle upright in a cool environment and aim to finish the contents within two weeks to preserve the crafted oxidative notes. The straightforward colheira protocol delivers immediate drinkability alongside reliable mid-term cellaring capacity.

92 Points
"The 2000 Colheita Port, bottled in February 2019, comes in with a long cork and 118 grams of sugar. Gentle up front, this adds considerable power on the back end, together with ripe fruit and classically complex flavors. Relatively speaking, the aromatics are just average. Long on the finish, though, this is delicious and gripping. The big finish is by far its best feature, but the structure is well above average too"
