2018 Col d'Orcia - Brunello di Montalcino (750ml)

One of the original estates of Montalcino and now the largest certified organic vineyard in all of Tuscany, Col d'Orcia is considered a traditional producer — aging in large Slavonian oak barrels for extended periods to ensure Sangiovese remains the true star, rather than the oak. 

The 2018 shows a warm, dry, and beautifully fruity nose of cranberry, cherry, strawberry, and orange peel. On the palate, rose petals accentuate the fruitiness while the tannins are polished but structured — like expensive leather. A classic luxury experience.  Beautifully balanced with great freshness for its age.

A wine built for the cellar, from a house that has been defining what great Brunello looks like for decades.
