2019 Chateau La Confession - St. Emilion (750ml)
A rising star in Saint-Émilion — elevated to Grand Cru Classé status in 2022, confirming what savvy buyers already knew. Flowers, smoke, licorice, espresso, and red cherries on the nose and palate; round, soft, and polished with freshness, length, and loads of sweet fruit in the mineral finish. Ripe black cherries, good freshness, and some nougat on the finish — an elegant food wine with ripe tannins and genuine complexity. Nice depth and structure with raspberry, lifted florals, and a dusty, rocky tannic character — drinks well now but should hold another 5–7 years without difficulty. An exceptional value for a newly classified Saint-Émilion Grand Cru in a great vintage. Drink now–2030.
