"Situated in the heart of Fuisse, Domaine Ferret has long been a producer of top Pouilly-Fuisse cuvees. The estate was managed by the Ferret family from its founding in 1840 until it was purchased by Louis Jadot in 2008. As the first domaine to begin bottling on the estate, and with its long-standing focus on vinifying each parcel separately, Domaine Ferret has played a key role in defining the quality of the region. Its wines, which are made from Chardonnay grapes grown in vineyards located in the heart of the property, express both the diversity and the purity of Pouilly Fuisse. This Pouilly-Fuisse is a blend of the best vineyard parcels with 10 to 35 year old vines from the Fuisse amphitheater, with soils mostly limestone and some clay. Each parcel was vinified separately to ensure the finest expression of the fruit. Half the wine was fermented in enameled tanks and half in 2-4 year old oak barrels. The wine was aged 10 months on the lees in French oak barrels, not new. Subtle notes include minerals, yellow fruits, flowers, fresh hazelnuts and spices, with an intense finish. The perfect equilibrium of this wine allows it to retain its vibrancy with age."
