Domaine André et Mireille Tissot was founded in 1962 near Arbois, and their son Stéphane, working alongside his wife Bénédicte, has since transformed it into one of the Jura's most respected estates. Stéphane joined the family operation in 1989, gradually took over its direction, and converted the vineyards to organic farming in 1999 before moving fully into biodynamic practices by 2004. The domaine now farms around forty-three hectares across dozens of distinct parcels, producing more than thirty separate cuvées each year.

En Amphore takes Savagnin, one of the Jura's signature grapes, and macerates it like a red wine for roughly six months inside four-hundred-liter terracotta amphorae, without any addition of sulfur. This ancient technique, revived by the Tissots as part of their pursuit of purity and transparency in the glass, is followed by a further period of aging with regular topping up before an unfiltered bottling.

The result is a strikingly intense orange wine with a golden hue touched by amber, showing aromas of candied citrus, dried fruit, and warm spice. The palate is broad and structured, finishing on a persistent, noble bitterness reminiscent of almond. It pairs beautifully with roasted poultry or richly flavored fish.
