2020 Louis Jadot - Beaune 1er Cru Celebration (750ml)

Maison Louis Jadot's Célébration cuvée was created by longtime winemaker Jacques Lardière in 2009 to mark the house's 150th anniversary, and the house has continued the tradition only in vintages it judges worthy of the name. Since Beaune has no Grand Cru vineyards of its own, the wine instead blends fruit from roughly fifteen to seventeen individual Premier Cru parcels across the commune, assembled to showcase the depth and range the appellation can reach at its best. The 2020 marks just the fifth release of the cuvée, continuing under the guidance of Frédéric Barnier, who succeeded Lardière as head winemaker in 2012.

Because the blend draws on so many parcels spread across Beaune's premier cru slopes, it captures a broader cross-section of soils and exposures than any single-vineyard bottling could, giving the wine both structural depth and a layered aromatic profile.

The 2020 opens aromatic and fresh, with blackberry and raspberry fruit joined by a second wave of smoky berry notes. The tannins show a soft grip and the acidity feels well integrated, producing a more polished and elegant style than the more muscular 2018 release. Deeply colored, with fine-grained, silky tannins, it carries real aging potential while remaining approachable now.
