2020 San Marzano - Primitivo di Manduria DOC Sessantanni (750ml)

Sessantanni is San Marzano’s old vines Primitivo, named for the 60-year-old vineyards around San Marzano and Sava in Manduria. The fruit is hand-harvested in late September and fermented at controlled temperatures. It then spends 12 months in oak. The 2020 is deep ruby, with plum, cherry and blueberry on the nose and tobacco spice from the barrel. The palate is full-bodied and smooth, with balanced tannins. Cocoa, coffee and vanilla linger on a long finish. It’s a rich, easy red for lamb shanks, braised meats, meat-sauce pasta and grilled sausages.
