Airfield Estates is a fourth generation family farm in the Yakima Valley, with roots dating to 1907 when H. Lloyd Miller began acquiring land that would become the family estate. During World War II, part of that land served as a training site for Army Air Corps pilots, and Miller later purchased the surviving airbase buildings, an unusual history that inspired the winery's aviation themed branding and its still working Airport Ranch. Mike Miller founded Airfield Estates Winery in 2005, and today it is run by his children, siblings Marcus Miller and Lori Stevens, continuing the family's long agricultural tradition.

Bombshell is a red blend built around Syrah and Merlot, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Grenache rounding out the wine. All the fruit is estate grown in the Yakima Valley AVA, Washington's oldest appellation, on silt loam soils over fractured basalt near the Rattlesnake Mountains. The 2021 growing season brought a hot, dry summer followed by a cool October, conditions that produced smaller berries and concentrated, structurally sound fruit across the estate's vineyards, harvested in stages through mid to late October to capture optimal ripeness in each variety.

This playful, easy drinking blend opens with cut grass, boysenberry, and leather aromas, followed by flavors of black cherry, fig, maple, and orange zest. Modest acidity and sturdy tannins give way to a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. It pairs well with barbecue, burgers, or a charcuterie board.
