2021 Domaine Bornard - Chardonnay Au Fil des Genrations Cotes du Jura (750ml) [PRE ARRIVAL]

Domaine Bornard is based in Pupillin, a village near Arbois in the Jura, and is one of the region's most iconic family estates. Philippe Bornard retired, and his son Tony took over in 2017, continuing the family's legacy across roughly 11 hectares in the Arbois-Pupillin and Côtes du Jura appellations. Tony is known for meticulous work in both vineyard and cellar, with a particular focus on soil health.

Au Fil des Générations is made only in years when frost cuts yields severely, as it did in 2021. Rather than bottle separate parcels, Tony blended Chardonnay from every vineyard the estate farms into a single cuvée, a nod to the four generations of the family who planted the vines. Farmed organically and fermented with native yeasts, the wine is aged slowly in old oak barrels in the ouillé style, and bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulfur.

Bright and finely textured, the wine offers lemon zest, green apple, crushed stone, and hazelnut aromas, with hints of quince and honey. The palate is taut and saline with quiet richness, closing on a long, mineral finish.
