Il Marroneto is a small, family-run estate in Montalcino led by winemaker Alessandro Mori, whose commitment to purity and precision has made his Sangiovese some of the most sought-after in the region. The estate has farmed organically since 1988 and follows a traditional path in the cellar, relying on natural fermentation with no fining or filtration before bottling. This hands-off philosophy, paired with the estate's prime sites at elevation with cool northern exposure, has earned Il Marroneto a reputation among the most elegant and age-worthy producers in Brunello.

Madonna delle Grazie takes its name from a small chapel above the two-hectare vineyard from which it comes, the estate's oldest parcel, planted in 1974 and 1975 on sandstone, limestone, and galestro soils just below Montalcino's village walls. Fermentation happens spontaneously in large, closed oak casks with no temperature control, allowing the must to reach high temperatures during the process, which contributes to the wine's depth. The wine then ages for more than 42 months in large botti before further time resting in bottle, and only around 9,000 bottles were produced from the 2021 vintage.

This Brunello opens with a refined nose of dried strawberries, blood orange, cinnamon, and crushed stones, with hints of violet and spice. The palate is seamless and silky, balancing bright cherry and blackberry fruit against firm, polished tannins and vibrant acidity that carries through a long, complex finish.
