2021 Terre del Barolo - Barolo (750ml)
Terre del Barolo is a cooperative winery founded in 1958 in Castiglione Falletto, at the heart of the Barolo zone, and today draws on more than 300 member families who farm the surrounding hillsides. Each grower contributes fruit from their own small holdings, and the cooperative structure allows the winery to draw on plots scattered across several of the appellation's finest communes. This model has let Terre del Barolo build a large, consistent range while keeping close ties to the individual families who tend the vines.
This Barolo is made entirely from Nebbiolo sourced from vineyards around Castiglione Falletto and blended across multiple sites within the appellation. Following fermentation, the wine typically ages for around eighteen months in a mix of French and Slavonian oak barrels of varying sizes before further time resting in bottle. The 2021 vintage reaches an alcohol level of 14.5%, in keeping with the estate's classic, traditional style of Barolo production.
The wine pours a clear, intense ruby red and opens with black pepper and wet earth on the nose, followed by hibiscus and cherry. The palate is compact and juicy, with distinctive tannins, vibrant acidity, and a savory finish that lingers.
