Tommasi is a family-run Valpolicella producer, and this Amarone is the flagship of its range. The house favors a traditional approach that prizes elegance and balance over sheer power, with deep fruit complemented by spicy, earthy character. Oenologist Giancarlo Tommasi guides the winemaking for the family.

The grapes come from the La Groletta and Conca d'Oro vineyards on the hills of Sant'Ambrogio, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Conca d'Oro offers substantial limestone, while La Groletta combines clay and limestone with generous sun and cooling breezes from Lake Garda. Corvina, Rondinella, Corvinone, and Oseleta are dried on open racks from October through February, losing about half their weight. After fermentation, the wine matures for three years in large Slavonian oak casks. The 2021 growing season followed a cold, dry winter with a balanced spring and mild summer.

Very intense ruby in color, the wine shows ripe cherry, black cherry, and wild berries, along with fig, dried thyme, spiced orange peel, and a touch of espresso. The palate is dry yet soft and enveloping, with acidity and tannins in fine balance. A persistent finish rounds out a remarkably elegant Amarone.
