Whitehall Lane traces its roots to 1979, when two brothers built a winery along the Rutherford road that gives the property its name, on land under vine since the 1800s. In 1993 the Leonardini family purchased the estate and brought a more scientific approach to the vineyards and cellar. Three generations of the family now farm seven estate vineyards across Rutherford, St. Helena, and Oak Knoll, all certified under the Napa Green sustainability program.

The 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is made entirely from estate fruit grown on the valley floor, blended mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon with small additions of Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. The wine aged twenty months in French oak, roughly half of it new, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve its natural texture. The result is a classic, well-balanced expression of Napa's valley floor style.

The nose offers sweet blackberry, dried Mission fig, and black cherry, with hints of blackberry coulis, toasted vanilla, and cigar box. On the palate, rich, velvety tannins carry flavors of chocolate-covered cherries, black plum, and mixed berry pie, finishing with a touch of toasted walnut. Try it alongside roast pork tenderloin or aged gruyère.
