2022 Alain Jaume - Lirac Clos Sixte (750ml)

Founded in 1826 and now run by the 5th and 6th generations of the Jaume family, Clos de Sixte is a single-vineyard Lirac sitting directly across the Rhône from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on soils geologists consider nearly identical to their more famous neighbor. Certified organic, the wine shows dark, meaty aromas with herbal freshness and a hint of bitter chocolate, moving into a medium to full-bodied palate with licorice and restrained forest berry fruit, finishing extremely well-balanced. A consistently well-reviewed Lirac that Jeb Dunnuck has called a "superstar wine" year in and year out, offering serious Southern Rhône character at a fraction of Châteauneuf pricing.
