Argyle Winery was founded in 1987 in Dundee, Oregon, and has become a benchmark producer of traditional method sparkling wine in the Pacific Northwest. Committed to sustainable, minimal intervention farming, the winery has built its reputation on meticulous site selection, hand harvesting, and patient cellar aging, and it stands out as one of the few Willamette Valley producers whose sparkling, white, and red wines have all earned recognition among the world's top wines from major critics.

The Vintage Brut is crafted using the traditional Champagne method, methode champenoise, from a blend anchored by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown on Argyle's estate vineyards. Oregon's long, cool growing season allows the fruit to ripen gradually, preserving the bright acidity and delicate aromatics essential to fine sparkling wine. After the second fermentation in bottle, the wine spends extended time aging on its lees, a process that builds the fine, persistent bubbles and layered, toasty complexity for which Argyle is known.

This vintage shows pale copper gold color with aromas of shortbread, sweet apple, and strawberry rhubarb pie, framed by warm baking spices. The palate is vibrant and well balanced, finishing with bright citrus zest and a subtle saltiness. It makes a lovely aperitif and pairs well with oysters, fried chicken, or a soft triple cream cheese.

90 Points
"Appealing for its easygoing flavors of apple, cherry blossoms and spiced cinnamon that linger at length. Drink now. 19,000 cases made."
