Another outstanding 2022 at a very nice price!

Château d'Arsac has one of the largest holdings in the Margaux appellation, farming 54 hectares of sandy-gravelly soil shaped by the nearby Gironde estuary. Under owner Philippe Raoux, who revitalized the historic estate starting in 1986, the 2022 is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend (72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot) fermented in temperature-controlled steel vats with gentle extraction. Deep, dark garnet in color, it shows a classic Cabernet-driven nose of well-ripened black fruit with empyreumatic notes on the swirl, and a massive, dense palate carrying real savoriness and unctuous, silky tannins on the finish. Serious structure and ageing potential for a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel price point.

Country France
Region Bordeaux
Appellation Margaux
Classification Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel
Producer Château d'Arsac
Blend 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot
Format 750ml
94 Points
"Good depth on the nose, showing blackcurrants, graphite and a touch of fresh herbs and flowers. This shows obvious potential with its tight-grained tannins providing a muscular but complete structure to the full-bodied palate. Still, quite lively and al dente. Tightly wound, long and youthful in the finish. 72% cabernet sauvignon and 28% merlot. Drink from 2026. This would hold very well in the next eight to ten years."
