Crosby Roamann began far from Napa, when husband and wife Sean and Juliana McBride started making wine out of a single barrel of purchased grapes in a Tribeca apartment back in 2006. Bitten by the passion, Sean relocated to Napa Valley and learned the craft firsthand at White Rock Vineyards before the couple committed to the region full-time. Their focus has remained on small-lot, single-vineyard wines, sourcing fruit from more than a dozen growers across Napa while paying close attention to how each site and sub-appellation expresses itself in the glass. The winery now operates out of Napa's Crusher District, where the McBrides still personally lead tastings for visitors.

This Chardonnay is built around Dijon clone 95, a selection originally developed in Burgundy for its intensity of flavor and adaptability to limestone soils, planted here on SO4 rootstock to suit Napa's growing conditions. The wine undergoes partial malolactic fermentation and extended aging in French oak, often exceeding forty percent new barrels, which builds a round, creamy texture without weighing down the fruit.

The wine offers a spiced, creamy mouthfeel layered with dried lemon, grapefruit pith, baked cinnamon apple, and warm pear, finishing long with a gentle warming lift. Serve it alongside roasted turkey, buttered lobster, or a creamy potato gratin.
