2022 Fiorini - Lambrusco Becco Rosso (750ml)

Poderi Fiorini has been a family affair since 1919, when grandfather Giuseppe began working the vineyards of the Modena plain near Ganaceto. Four generations later, siblings Alberto and Cristina Fiorini now run the estate from Savignano sul Panaro, farming close to thirty hectares across three protected zones. The family converted fully to organic viticulture, earning ICEA certification in 2019, while staying devoted to the Lambrusco tradition their grandfather first learned in the cellar.

Becco Rosso is made from Lambrusco Grasparossa grown on the estate's youngest vines, chosen specifically to keep vigor in check and preserve balance and drinkability in the fruit. The grapes grow on clay-rich, silty hillside soils in Savignano sul Panaro and are harvested entirely by hand, sorted for the best bunches. The fruit is transferred quickly into temperature-controlled tanks, where a brief maceration extracts soft, gentle tannins before fermentation finishes in the same steel vessels, preserving the wine's fresh, dry character rather than pushing it toward sweetness.

The wine pours a deep purplish red with a lively mousse, offering vinous aromas of wild strawberry, geranium, and raspberry. The palate is dry and savory, with balanced tannins and a pleasantly bitter finish. Serve it with charcuterie, wood-fired pizza, or a hearty plate of tortellini in broth.
