2022 Garofoli - Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Podium (750ml)

Garofoli is one of the Marche's most established wineries, founded in 1901 and long recognized as a leading voice for Verdicchio in the Castelli di Jesi zone. Based near Castelfidardo, the estate has built its reputation on showcasing the grape's full potential, and Podium represents the highest expression of that commitment, made entirely from Verdicchio grown on the family's own vineyards.

The fruit for Podium comes from hillside vineyards around Montecarotto, in the classic heart of the appellation, planted on clay and limestone soils. Yields are kept deliberately low, and the grapes are harvested later than usual to build concentration and complexity. After fermentation, the wine rests in stainless steel for at least a year before bottling, a process that preserves freshness while allowing the fruit character to deepen.

In the glass, Podium shows a straw yellow color with greenish highlights. The nose is intense and layered, with ripe yellow fruit, citrus peel, honey, and a hint of almond. The palate is full and structured, balanced by lively acidity and a long, saline finish. It pairs beautifully with shellfish, grilled seafood, or fresh, young cheeses.
