Hartford Court was founded in 1994 in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County, quickly building a reputation for single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that reflect the personality of each individual site. The winery leans on sustainable farming and a minimalist approach in the cellar, preferring to let each vineyard's soil, climate, and history speak through the finished wine rather than imposing a single house style across the board. That philosophy has made Hartford Court a trusted name for site-specific bottlings across Sonoma County.

Three Jacks Vineyard is a small parcel tucked into the heart of Green Valley within the Russian River Valley AVA, farmed by the Dutton family and planted in 1995 to four historic clonal selections. The vineyard earned its name during an early barrel tasting, a nod to the partnership behind the property, and Hartford first bottled it as a designated vineyard wine in the late 1990s before bringing it back into the lineup in 2012. Its cool climate and well-drained soils give the Chardonnay both richness and lift.

The 2022 vintage bursts with apple sauce, poached pear, and nutmeg, layered with ginger snap and honeycomb. The palate is creamy and spiced, balanced by bright, well-knit acidity through a long, gingery finish. It pairs well with buttery lobster tail, roast turkey breast, or a wedge of triple cream cheese.

94 Points
"A youthful yellow/green-tinged color, the 2022 Chardonnay Three Jacks Vineyard is forward and lifted in the glass with notes of lime zest, gun flint, citrus blossoms, and fresh apples. Full-bodied, it keeps light on its feet, with an elegant profile and fresh, juicy candied citrus notes through the palate. It’s a lovely and well-detailed wine to drink over the next 6-8 years."
