Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet ranks among the most respected white wine producers in the Côte de Beaune, a reputation built by grandfather Pierre Ramonet, who settled in Chassagne-Montrachet in the late 1920s and steadily assembled vineyard holdings across the village, famously buying a parcel of Montrachet outright in cash in 1978. Grandsons Jean-Claude and Noël later expanded the domaine into Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin, continuing their grandfather's exacting approach.

This village-level Puligny-Montrachet is drawn from several parcels near Champ-Canet, on calcareous soils typical of the appellation, with vines averaging around sixty years old and yields kept deliberately low. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed, and the wine matures twelve to fifteen months in a mix of new and used French oak, with extended lees aging, occasional bâtonnage, and only light filtration before bottling.

The wine shows lemon zest, white flowers, and orchard fruit, with a chalky, mineral undertone typical of the appellation. Medium-bodied and vibrant, it carries a taut acidity and a long, saline finish that reflects Puligny's characteristic precision. A little time in the glass allows its aromatics to open further. It pairs beautifully with fresh oysters, seared scallops, or a young goat cheese.
