By the time this 2022 vintage was made, Clément Boillot had already taken full charge of the family domaine, stepping in for his father three years earlier while also overseeing Domaine Ghislaine Barthod, his mother's separate estate in the same village. Clément continues the house style his parents built, fully destemming the fruit and favoring a light, cool maceration ahead of fermentation that keeps primary fruit character front and center. Though the two family domaines share a cellar and vineyard team in Chambolle-Musigny, Clément has kept their vinification and commercial sides entirely distinct.

This village-level cuvée draws on fruit from Beaux Bruns and Les Combottes, following a small parcel exchange with a neighboring grower that shifted the blend slightly from prior vintages. As with the rest of the domaine's range, the grapes are destemmed before a light cold maceration and fermentation, followed by roughly twelve months of barrel aging with modest new oak, then bottling without fining or filtration.

The result is elegant and airy, with pretty aromatics of red cherry, raspberry, and rose petal layered over a fine, age-worthy structure that belies its village classification. It's a lovely match for duck breast, salmon, or soft, earthy cheeses.

88-90 Points
"The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village is a slightly different blend after a plot exchange with Felettig, so this comes from Beaux Bruns and Combottes. The focused bouquet is initially understated, opening nicely with sous-bois and orange rind aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip on the entry. Classic and "cool" in style, you'd imagine this
comes from a less warm growing season. It will give a decade's worth of drinking happiness.
