Domaine de Mont-Redon is best known for its benchmark Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but the family's holdings across the Rhône extend into neighboring Lirac, where the same meticulous, terroir-first approach applies at a more accessible price point. A Grenache-led blend with Syrah and Mourvèdre, farmed on the appellation's mix of sand, clay, and rolled stones across the Rhône from Châteauneuf. The 2022 shows the ripe, generous character of the vintage — dark cherry, garrigue, and black pepper on the nose, with a full-bodied, warm palate, soft tannins, and an easy, satisfying finish. Excellent, food-friendly Rhône red for everyday drinking.

90-92 Points
"Gorgeous black cherries, hints of cassis, spring flowers, and subtle oak all define the Grenache-dominated 2022 Lirac, a medium to full-bodied Lirac offering beautiful tannins, a layered, elegant mouthfeel, and outstanding length."
—Jeb Dunnuck-Jeb Dunnuck
