grown on the weathered limestone and glacial soils of the Alto Adige DOC, the 2022 Nals Margreid Pinot Bianco Sirmian translates high-altitude viticulture into a crisp, structured white wine with clear regional character.

This vintage presents a pale straw appearance with an aromatic spectrum built around citrus pith, green pear, and freshly flint. Fermentation is managed in neutral vessels under strict thermal control to preserve the grape’s native ester profile, yielding a palate that stays clean, unsweetened, and fully dry. Vibrant malic and tartaric acids thread through the mid-palate, culminating in a saline, mineral-driven finish that refreshes rather than coats.

The pronounced acidity cuts through richness, making this bottling functionally aligned with briny and savory preparations. Raw or briefly cooked shellfish, grilled white fish served with capers and olive oil, and herb-forward vegetable tarts all harmonize with the wine’s tension. Young, tangy goat cheese or lightly salted almonds amplify the pinot bianco’s inherent nutty undertones. Maintain storage at 4°C to 10°C until opening, and decant briefly if drinking young to allow closed mineral notes to integrate.

93 Points
" Aged eight months in large oak casks, the Nals Margreid 2022 Alto Adige Pinot Bianco Sirmian shows a luminous color and transmits lots of ambient light. The wine is layered and rich with stone fruit, quince and pear. You get a very nice ensemble with ripe fruit tones, herbal end notes and a pinch of cinnamon spice. Production is an ample 40,000 bottles. This is the 50th vintage made."
