The Loire's most celebrated Cabernet Franc — from one of Chinon's legendary addresses.

Philippe Alliet pioneered a new style in Chinon in the 1990s, and Coteau de Noiré — sourced from a steep south-facing clay-limestone slope — is the jewel of the domaine, captivating Cabernet Franc enthusiasts with its deep color, incredible density, and extraordinary aging potential. As the vine grows on these sunny, south-facing hills, the wine achieves dark concentration and candied depth while maintaining stunning freshness, with silky and delicate tannins and a lovely length.

Expect herbal savoriness, ripe dark cherries, a touch of tobacco and dark minerality, with juicy substance, ripe well-integrated tannins, and an elegant, long-lasting finish.- A pure and fresh expression of the variety and the place — one that puts many great Bordeaux wines to shame.

Cellar it or open it now with two hours of air. Either way, it won't disappoint.

94 Points
"The 2022 Coteau de Noiré lures you in with its fruity yet brooding style, smooth richness and freshness. Spice, licorice, cherry and dried herbs make this a multi-layered Chinon. There is a gorgeous array of sinewy and chalky tannins, while an assured drive of acidity accompanies good line and length. Based on its intensity, balanced structure and pure, youthful fruit, this 2022 will go the distance. Leave it a while to release
its pent-up tension
